Music City Melody
Nashville’s new musical comedy about the songwriter's story
By Wally Nason
CAST
Isabel Smith (Melody) is a rare Nashville native, which makes this show extra special for he. She holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Lipscomb University. You may have seen her onstage with The Nashville Shakespeare Festival (most recently The Tempest and Pericles), Watershed Public Theatre in Sense and Sensibility (Marianne) and Carousel (Ensemble), most recently in A Vote of Her Own (Anne Dallas Dudley), and other shows in Nashville. She grew up session singing, including backup vocals for artists such as Dolly Parton, Carrie Underwood, and Frankie Valli. Isabel would like to thank her wonderful husband for his constant love and support and she can’t wait for audiences to see this show. Praise be to God!
Payton (Chad) is thrilled to be performing in Music City Melody! Originally from Arkansas, he studied musical theatre at Boston Conservatory. Some of his favorite roles include Black Stache in “Peter and the Starcatcher”, Clifford Anderson in “Deathtrap”, and Huckleberry Finn in “Big River”. He would like to thank his partner Delanie and his two cats, Kona and Sora, for always supporting him.
Jack E. Chambers (Hugh) is tickled to get a chance to bring this character to life along with these fine folks. A Southern actor, writer, filmmaker, and singer-songwriter himself, Jack came to Nashville from south Georgia almost 35 years ago via the University of the South. Jack has appeared in nearly 100 productions across Middle Tennessee, performing Shakespeare and drag, classic drama and experimental comedy, one-man shows and his original work. Favorite roles include Henry (Lion in Winter), Kerr (Chesapeake), Byck (Assassins), The Old Man (Christmas Story), Bayless (Blackbird), Paul (The Christians), and Shannon (Night of the Iguana). Thank you to Wally for trusting me and my inner Merle, and especially everyone who's been there for The Next Chapter.

An ‘accidental’ Christmas Musical
An unexpected knock. An unplanned guest.
One unforgettable night.

They didn't even know the man in the red suit
knew where they lived.
And, trust us, the man was just as surprised as they were!
A collision of traditions, a mash up of morals, and a stranger in search of far more than just an address...
this new Yuletide comedy

The National Anthem is a new one-man musical comedy about the fascinating American who wrote "The Star-Spangled Banner.” Francis Scott Key's unwavering and sometimes unorthodox opinions on social matters as well as his unique and often unappreciated relationship with poetry is showcased in this 90-minute mix of lyrics and laughs. You’ll snicker in your knickers and cackle in your cloak as you discover more about the man whose name we all know…
but whose history is a mystery.
